“Death with Dignity”
Friends and Neighbors
With the passage of Proposition 106, Colorado health care providers must decide if they will provide the type of care this law creates, Physician Assisted Suicide. We at LCH have opted to not participate in this form of care. We do wish to support those members of our community that find themselves facing this momentous decision.
Although LCH is opting out, our Hospice program provides compassionate care to those with life limiting illness. This service works to alleviate pain and other symptoms related to the terminal illness with the goal of having as much quality of life as possible for the time that remains. Furthermore, the services provided through Hospice continue after the patient’s death to support bereaved family and friends as they heal and move forward.
We are also happy to refer patients to a competent and compassionate physician who can provide the desired treatment. Please speak with your Primary Care Provider or with our Social Work Department for assistance.
