POSITION: Housekeeping Supervisor

PURPOSE:

 

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the development of work plans and areas of general and heavy duty housekeeping and maintaining floors in all facilities. Directly supervises employees in the housekeeping department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility’s policies and applicable laws.

 

 

ENVIRONMENT:

 

Lincoln Community Hospital and Care Center is a Critical Access Hospital co-located with a Care Center. The facility employs 150-200 employees. The incumbent will manage all areas.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Directly supervises employees in the housekeeping department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning and directing work.
  • Appraise performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ordering all cleaning supplies and new linens.
  • Changing cubicle and window curtains according to policy.
  • Maintain department within their budget.

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 

High school graduate preferred, but not necessary. Experience in a healthcare field helpful, but not necessary.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret budgeting, weighing and measuring. Ability to develop procedures, plans, and goals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

 

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

 

HOURS AND DAYS:

 

The employee must schedule the housekeeping department to seven (7) day coverage.
